ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Mandalay
Mingalabar! Upon arrival, a driver and tour guide of Myanmar Travel will welcome you at the airport outside the arrival gate and transfer you to the hotel in Mandalay city center.
Start our city tour with a visit to Mandalay Palace - the royal palace of the last Burmese monarchy, constructed between 1857 and 1859 by king Mindon. Head to Kuthodaw Pagoda, famed as the world’s biggest book, composed of 729 stupas and each representing a page in the “book” indicating the Buddha’s life and conclude the day to Shwenandaw Monastery - noted for its exquisite wood carvings.
We offer you a welcome dinner at fine restaurant.

Day 2: Amarapura – Inwa – Ubein Bridge
In the morning, drive to Amarapura. Being famous for Mahagandaryone Monastery, Amarapura is the best place to experience the monk life in Mandalay. Every day at mid-morning, monks and novices line up silently to receive their daily offering of alms and food from faithful Buddhists.
We then cross the river by ferry to Inwa (Ava), situated on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. Once a royal capital, Inwa is now a quiet rural oasis. Enjoy a horse cart ride around the peaceful countryside, visiting Bagaya Kyaung, a beautiful teak wood monastery, Maha Aungmyay Bonzan Kyaung, and Nan Myint tower.
End of the day, walk over Ubein Wooden Bridge, the longest teakwood of its type & enjoy great sunset view here.

Day 3: Mandalay – Mingun – Sagaing
After breakfast, our driver will transfer you to the jetty. Embarkation time is 10:00 at Shwe Kyat Yet Jetty (Mandalay). Welcome Drink and briefing. Sail upstream for about one and half hour we arrived at the Mingun Pagoda Complex. Well-known short trip to see the unfinished pagoda, the Mingun Bell, weighting 90 tones and the biggest hanging undamaged bell in the world and the "Home for the Aged". After lunch on board, continue our cruise downstream to Sagaing for about two & a half hour’s excursion by coach. Visiting the most important Buddhist religion site. Back to the board and sail downstream. Enjoy the sunset over Sagaing Hill. Moor overnight at a sandbank mid-stream. After dinner guests can enjoy a Traditional Dance on the sundeck (if available).

Day 4: Sagaing – Yandabo Village
In the morning, cruising downstream to Yandabo Village. Sightseeing Yandabo Village. Defendant on the base economy is famous for the production of terracotta from the riverbank clay. We see the pottery making process at various stages. Yandabo, historically recognized for the signing of the Yandabo Treaty which took place under a tree on the riverbank in 1826 between the British and Royal Burmese House-hold of Ava. Shore excursion time is 1 hour. Back to board and cast off. Continue sailing downstream and moor overnight at near Chindwin confluence.

Day 5: Yandabo Village – Bagan - Sightseeing
Cast off early morning, continue sailing downstream and approximately arrive to Bagan about 09:00 am. Disembark and get picked up by our tour guide and driver.
Bagan is Myanmar’s archaeological wonderland, where over 3,000 ancient temples blossom from the countryside
Start your Bagan exploration with a visit to the bustling Nyang U Market then explore the beautiful, gold leaf Shwezigon Pagoda and learn about Burmese Buddhist traditions. We continue to Ananda Temple, stopping along the way on the Bagan plains to admire some of the surrounding temples.
In the afternoon, enjoy an exotic horse cart ride to one of the biggest temples in Bagan: Nan Paya Pagoda and many other interesting sites nearby. The highlight of today is the panoramic sunset view from the second highest pagoda of Bagan, the ShweSandaw Pagoda.

Day 6: Bagan – Mt. Popa – Fly to Yangon
Leaving the Bagan temples behind, we begin the drive to Mt Popa. Join the pilgrims as they ascend Mt. Popa and admire the crazy statues that line the walkway, along with the monkeys that live on the mountain. Once at the peak, guests can relax and bask in the glorious views of Bagan. Back to Nyaung Oo airport for the late afternoon flight to Yangon.
Get picked up on arrival. On the way to your hotel, we will visit Shwedagon Pagoda – the most prominent monument in Yangon, which dominates the sky with golden flash, giant spires and holy relics.

Day 7: Yangon city tour – Departure
Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is still a relatively quiet and charming city. Its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes Yangon one of the most fascinating and authentic capitals of South East Asia.
Having breakfast at the hotel, we visit Sule Pagoda which is believed to enshrine a strand of hair of the Buddha.
Walk to China Town, covering the exotic streets of Yangon downtown and British colonial buildings such as Emmanuel Church and Inland Water Buildings. Enjoy last minute shopping in Bogyoke Market before getting transferred to the airport for your departure flight. Formerly named Scott’s Market, it is now the main tourist destination where you can find antique, Burmese handicrafts & jewelry shops, art galleries & clothing stores. Trip ends.
