ITINERARY

Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Mingalabar! Upon arrival, driver and tour guide of Myanmar Tour will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to hotel in Yangon city.
Begin your first Myanmar visit to Shwedagon pagoda – the most prominent monument in Yangon which dominates the sky with golden flash, giant spires and holy relics.
The highlight for this evening is the dinner in Karaweik Palace, overlooking to the Royal Lake. The dinner is served with fine Burmese food and amazing cultural show.

Day 2: Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo
After breakfast in the hotel, we leave Yangon to enjoy a scenic journey to Kyaiktiyo, 190km east. One of Myanmar’s great pilgrimage sites is the Golden Rock at Kyaiktiyo, a huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. The pagoda at the Golden Rock is said to hold a hair of the Buddha. Late morning, arrive at Kyaikhtiyo base camp and transfer to the transit junction with one of the small open trucks in a one-hour ride. After lunch, start a challenge walk up to the Golden Rock and enjoy sunset from this unforgettable site.

Day 3: Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon
After breakfast, return to the base-camp by open truck and head in the direction of Yangon for 110km to Bago, an ancient capital dating back to the 6th century. Sightseeing in Bago includes the beautiful fifty five meter long reclining Buddha called Shwethalyaung and the Mon style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most venerated in Myanmar. Its spire stands 114m high and is taller even than the Shwedagon Pagoda. Also visit the old Palace of Kambozathadi and the huge four sitting Buddhas. Transfer back to Yangon.

Day 4: Yangon – Fly to Heho – Pindaya – Kalaw
Have breakfast in the hotel. Leave Yangon for Heho where our driver awaits to transfer you to Pindaya Cave. Visit Pindaya’s limestone cave with its maze of chambers displaying more than 8,000 Buddha statues and local handicraft workshops producing Shan paper made from mulberry bark and traditional umbrellas made from the same paper that are used by monks all around the country.
Late afternoon, drive to Kalaw Hill station. Relax with the mild weather.

Day 5: Kalaw Trekking
After breakfast at hotel, drive to the northwest and stop at junction A. From here take foot path to the right. The road and trails goes through beautiful scenery. After approx. one and a half hour, you will reach Pane Hne Pin (Palaung Tribal Village). They make their living from farming and hunting. They live in long house and shared with 4-5 families. From Pane Hne Pin, you have to walk another half hour to the view point, the place where you will enjoy a panoramic view over Kalaw area. Then return to Pane Hne Pin village. From there you have to another half hour to reach Junction B, where the car is waiting for you to get back Kalaw (Overnight in Kalaw).

Day 6: Kalaw – Kakku – Inle Lake
This morning, leave Kalaw for Kakku on a 4 hour drive journey. Stop at Taunggyi for a short visit en-route then head into the rolling hills toward the east of the lake. The drive is spectacular, crossing over the railway line and through small villages inhabited to the Pa-Oh people. This area was closed to visitors for many years and even now only a few intrepid tourists make their way through here.
The first view of Kakku is breathtaking: there are more than 5200 individual stupas, some of which are 20 metres high, and several Buddha images scattered throughout. There are no clear facts about the history of the stupas but most date back to the 11th-13th century, the same period when Bagan was thriving. Wander throughout the temples, taking your time to enjoy the wonder and awe of this site and discover the intricate carvings and details on the structures.
Late afternoon, transferred to your resort in Inle Lake. Check in and rest of the time is at leisure.

Day 7: Inle Lake sightseeing
Inle Lake, the second largest lake in Myanmar is located 900 meters above sea level and is home to a unique one-leg rowing technique of the Intha people.
Our first visit today is to the “Five Day Market” which is held each day in a different village surrounding the lake. This is definitely a fascinating place to enjoy the scene of local tribes in their colorful clothes and exotic market atmosphere.
Continue our sightseeing tour to Phaungdawoo Pagoda, famed for its richly gilded five small Buddha images, also is believed the holiest in Inle Lake. Our next visit is Ngaphechaung Monastery, once known as “jumping cat pagoda”. As you travel further to Nam Pan village the cotton and lotus weaving factory and cigar-making houses will impress you with a sense of traditional Intha life.

Day 8: Inle Lake – Indein – Fly to Mandalay
After breakfast, the boat will take you to beautiful temple of Indein, located on the hill overlooking the lake. It will be definitely be relaxing to walk along the corridor and enjoy the giant columns which have been left to the nature for centuries.
Lunch on your own and transfer to the airport for your flight to Mandalay.

Day 9: Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay Hill
Known as the hub of Buddhism in Myanmar, Mandalay is a realm of stupas, monks and monastery. The most fascinating visit will be the time to behold the monks doing their worship and having meals.
Drive to Mandalay pier, embarking on a private boat upstream to visit Mingun, famed for its huge and incomplete Pahtodawgyi Pagoda and Mingun Bell the 90 tons ringing bell.
In the afternoon, visit Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery – noted for its exquisite wood carvings, gold leaf beating workshop, Kuthodaw Pagoda – known as the world biggest book and finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to watch the sun-set and the panoramic view of the city.

Day 10: Mandalay – Sagaing – Amarapura – Fly to Bagan
After breakfast, check out and get transferred to Sagaing Hill, discover the monk education, visit Budda Cave, Uminthonze Pagoda and Sunooponnyashin Pagoda. Behold the panoramic view of Mandalay.
After that, come to Amarapura. Being famous for Mahagandaryone Monastery Amarapura is the best place to experience the monk life in Mandalay. Walk over Ubein Wooden Bridge, the longest teakwood of its type before taking a short flight to Bagan. Get picked up on arrival.

Day 11: Bagan Discovery
Start your Bagan exploration with a visit to Shwezigon Pagoda, which is believed to enshrine a bone and tooth of Gautama Buddha, followed by Ananda, Sulamani Temple. In the afternoon, visit Bagan’s archaeological museum and discover the traditional way the local people make Bagan’s famous lacquer wares.
We offer a beautiful sunset cruise on Ayeyarwaddy River to end your afternoon.

Day 12: Bagan – Sightseeing
After breakfast, take an exotic horse cart ride to one of the biggest temples in Bagan, Nan Paya and many other interesting sites nearby. Continue sightseeing to Minkaba Gubyaukyi Temple taking note of the architectural differences between MyaZedi Temple and Manuha Temple. The highlight of today is the panoramic sunset view from the second highest temple of Bagan, the stunning ShweSandaw Pagoda.

Day 13: Bagan – Fly to Thandwe – Ngapali Beach
After breakfast, you will catch a flight from Nyaung U to Thandwe. It is time to immerse in the pristine water of Ngapali Beach and the beautiful green coconut groves.

Day 16: Ngapali Beach – Thandwe – Fly to Sittwe – Mrauk U
Take a short flight to Sittwe where you will be picked up and transferred to the jetty for private boat trip along the Kaladan River to Mrauk U, about 5 to 7 hours upstream by enjoying river life. Check in at hotel and overnight in Mrauk-u.

Day 17: Mrauk U Sightseeing
After breakfast, start sight-seeing in Mrauk-u, the ancient capital city of Rakhine Kingdom (15th century). First, visit city market to see the ways of life of local people. Continue our sightseeing to Pharaouk Pagoda, Mong-Khong- Shwe Du Stupa, Pesi Paya, Koe Thaung Temple (a shrine of 90000 Buddha images), Latt-Say Lake (artificial lake with city wall and a gate) and Mahabandola Monastery.
In the afternoon, visit to the massive Shit-Thaung Temple, a curiously remarkable temple with 80000 Buddha images and reliefs, Htaukkhan-Thein Temple likes the fortress, Andaw temple, Ratanabon Stupa, Laymyathnar temple (four sided temple), Laungbanprauk Pagoda locally known as “Plate Pagoda”, Pitakataik (a small library) and drive to Harritaung hill for Sun-set and back to hotel and overnight.

Day 18: Mrauk U – Chin Tattoo Village – Mrauk U
After breakfast at hotel, morning depart for Nann Kyar Village and Jetty by car (half an hour drive) and then 3 hours sailing up by boat along very fantastic scenery up stream Lay Myo river to Kone Chaung Village. Visit around the village to see very wonderful Chin ladies with tattoed faces with very different exciting tattooed pattern and their very simple ways of life. Visit Kyung Chaung, Sinkechin tribe villages which all are located at the lay Myo river bank. Lunch-box is needed to bring. Return back along downstream 2 and half hours. Then drive back to hotel.

Day 19: Mrauk U – Sittwe – Fly to Yangon
Early morning, check-out at hotel and take a drive to jetty and return to Sittwe by boat. On arrival transfer to Sittwe airport for departure flight to Yangon.

Day 20: Yangon Half Day Tour – Departure
Today, we continue our Yangon sightseeing with the visit to Sule Pagoda. It is believed to enshrine a strand of hair of the Buddha.
From Sule Pagoda, we embark on an orientation walk to Chinese Town, covering exotic streets of Yangon downtown and British Colonial building as Emmanuel Church, Inland Water Buildings.
Finally, finish up your day by enjoying some last minute shopping at Scott Market before heading to the airport for your flight home. End services.
