    From time to time the itinerary was changed and the guides did not always explain in advance what we were doing the next day.The guides were very knowledgeable and their vocabulary was good. However their pronunciation was sometimes difficult to understand which meant we had to concentrate very hard on what they were saying and sometimes it was difficult to stay focused.We paid extra for a bigger vehicle and this did not work well at all times.At Bagan we were met in a small Nissan saloon and had to ask for the car to be changed the next day.At Kalaw we had a smaller Toyota, not the bigger vehicle with the higher viewing position.When we left Inle Lake there was no car to meet us and we had to leave our luggage and walk into the town.In all we paid $260 extra to have a bigger vehicle for 9 days and that only worked for 6 days which was which was disappointing. You may consider a refund is appropriate in these circumstances.Yes thank you we had a great holiday. Because we stayed in a number of different hotels and had various guides the feedback survey form is not suitable for our type of trip so my feedback is shown below. (Marks out of 10)

    Thank you for your e.mail and we very much enjoyed the farewell dinner, the food was good and the staff very attentive.We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Myanmar, but regretfully 2 weeks in not sufficient time to really get to know the country or the people, although I understand we were very lucky with the weather. We went out into the community as much as possible and everyone we encountered was only to keen to assist and we felt safe at all times. All the transfers were waiting for us, the cars were clean and the drivers polite and helpful.Perhaps the only helpful hint I can think of us is that we found the 'process' through the internal airports different to the international airports that everybody is used to, and therefore perhaps printed guidelines to tourists as to what to expect and what the process is at these airports would be useful, but we did see other tourists who were struggling to understand whether or not it was their flight which was leaving. By our last flight we fully understood the 'sticker' system and knew what to look out for. The maps that you provided at the beginning was well used by the end of the trip.Your company provided us with everything that we asked for and were especially supportive through the issue of the lost wallet, keeping in touch with us and advising us of the best action to take. This event in no way detracted from our enjoyment of the trip.I know there is a great interest in this country about holidays to Myanmar and I would be happy to pass on your details to anybody I know who may want to visit your country.We may well come back to you to visit again or to one of your other destinations!Regards

    Please find attached our end of tour report on Discover Burma Special as requested, which is being posted to your Yangon office under a separate cover by mail. May I take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to each and every member of your staff responsible for organising and the execution of a thoroughly enjoyable tour. We would particularly like to thank Ms Hue Nguyen for her prompt response to my emails and amendments to our itinerary as requested and to Ms Nway Nway in your Yangon office to take time off work specially to help my wife with her shopping in Yangon. We were particularly interested in the Dargah of Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last King of India who died in1862 , exiled in Yangon by British for allegedly involved in India’s first revolt against British colonial rule. In all probability I expect the President of India to visit his grave in Yangon on his forthcoming official visit to Myanmar.
    I have no hesitation in recommending your Company to individuals seeking individualised guided tour of Myanmar without being charged unreasonable costs or being choked with Pagoda fatigue.     1. Tour Guide at Inle Lake Mr. Ya Ke was outstanding with his local knowledge, courteous behavior, general helpfulness, patience and command of English language & communication.
    2. Our Tour guide in Mandalay/Pyin Oo Lwin & Kyaukme , Ms Phoo Paye , is a very sweet girl although bit shy. Had good local knowledge and was willing to do more than was expected of her in the line of her duty. She was very accommodating to our requirements. Willing to learn & discover for us any information not immediately available to her. Always smartly dressed with an ever-lasting smile on her face. My wife became very fond of her. She qualified as a tour guide less than 4 months ago and we think she will gain in confidence in future & will become an excellent tour guide. We had slight problem initially with her accent but soon learnt to understand her.
    3. Our guide in Monywa, Mr. Thar Kyaw, was very confident of himself with many years of experience as a travel guide with English speaking clients. Good knowledge all round knowledge & we enjoyed his company. One of the best guides on our tour.
    4. Tour Guide in Bagan, Mr. Tan Win, was good and covered all the important sites we were interested in. Was very helpful in assisting us climb Mount Popa (Taung Kalat) at our age. Willing to learn from us about Hinduism & about Hindu idols worshiped as Nats in Popa.
    5. We had 2 tour guides in Yangon. The first guide was Mr. Ko Than Tan who spoke good English but we were put off with his mannerism & dress code. We conveyed our displeasure about him to Ms. Nway Nway of your company who replaced him next morning & volunteered to accompany us on our return to Yangon before departure. For it we are obliged to Myanmar Tours. We appreciate Ms. Nway Nway’s help in shopping & places of interest to us in Yangon.
    Comments.
    We were very pleased with the overall quality of services provided by Myanmar Tours. The itinerary & choice of hotels was good. The vehicles were clean & met our approval with safe drivers. It was never too much for Company to comply with our requirements and last minute changes. Well-groomed & well attired guides with pleasing mannerism. Very polite, courteous & helpful staff & guides with overall good local knowledge and reasonable command of English language. It was arranged as a private tour to meet our requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & travel in Myanmar and have no hesitation in recommending Myanmar Tours Company to others seeking a reliable tour operator with competitive pricing. The highlight of the tour is a visit to lake Inle and rail journey from Pyin Oo Lwin to Kyaukme over Gokteik via- duct.
    Recommendations.
    Customers wising to travel by train from Pyin Oo Lwin to Kyaukme to view Gokteik railway bridge should be advised to return back by car after the rail journey for an over night stay in Pyin O Lwin instead of Kyaukme. Road journey takes no more than 3-4 hours drive. Hotel accommodation at Kyaukme is suitable for those wishing an adventurous life style. There is nothing to see in Kyaukme . We had a very uncomfortable stay at the only guesthouse available. Accommodation is substandard, no running hot water, walls covered with cobwebs, no toilet paper or soap for hand wash on arrival and walls stained where mosquitoes had been overpowered by humans. There is TV in rooms with only one channel working with poor reception. Free Wi –Fi available if you are prepared to sit in the reception area sharing limited space with other guests busy organizing trekking with local guides. Do not expect have high level of service and breakfast is rationed. We were lucky to be invited by a local host for home cooked dinner.

    The whole group has safely arrived at home and it was also a great pleasure for me and Barbara to meet you in Hanoi.
    To give a résumé, I only had to remark, that the trekking in Cat Ba was really too heavy and too long for the group  and finally, I was very relieved, that nobody has been hurt.
    Unfortunately, we had rainy weather on the last day, therefore we could not join the Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip.
    The alternatively small rowing was quite convenient but has to be paid separately. This case was a little cross for me, considering that the planned day trip costs extra US$ 405 for the group… That’s a point  I have to learn from it by creating alternatives in case of bad weather.
    All in all, we enjoyed Cambodia and Vietnam very much. I think everyone was very satisfied and regarding myself, I had to admit, that it was a very satisfying and successful journey and I really consider to visit Vietnam again. Besides, I would recommend your company for Vietnam-Traveler.

    Dear Jack and the team at Myanmar Tours!
    We had an amazing trip to Myanmar and really loved seeing the different areas in Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Lake Inle and learned so much about the local culture and traditions. The tour guides were all extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful and brought the different sights very much to life for us. The organisation of the trip was perfect, everything worked well and according to plan, the tour guides were there at the airport waiting for us, the cars were ready and the hotels booked. Some of the domestic flights were delayed by about 30 minutes which wasn't a problem and sort of to be expected. The tour guides were flexible and adapted the schedule according to our wishes when we wanted to spend a bit more time in one place. Their restaurant recommendations were often very good. One of the highlights was our stay at the Buddhist Education Centre which was so special and we felt very privileged to get an insight into the life of the monks and the nuns at a nearby nonnery. Dr Kumara, the rector of the Monastery, was very kind and spend a lot of his time showing us around the campus and the nearby Saigang area and explaining about the Buddhist traditions and their religion. We learned so much from this visit and will remember it for ever. In Mandalay we discovered a very good western restaurant, Cafe City, just outside the Palace near the East gate, which you should recommend to other travelers as well. Hotel Mandalay was our least favourite hotel. It was clean and tidy, however, the rooms were close to a major road with trucks hooting at night and there was also a guard with a telephone on the corridor which was ringing throughout the night. We would have preferred a different hotel with a nicer atmosphere. The other hotels were all fine with decent food. Dinner at the Conqueror Resort hotel was probably the best out of the different hotels. The boat journey from Mandalay to Bagan took 13 1/2 hours, quite a bit longer than the 11 hours mentioned in our book. The food on the boat was pretty terrible, but luckily our guide had recommended to bring some food for the journey so we were ok. Just the last 2 hours felt a bit long, otherwise it was fine and the captain seemed very skillful steering the boat in between the sandbanks. We really loved the journey upriver and seeing the different villages along the banks. The reason why we gave Miu, our guide in Pindaya, a slightly lower mark was that he didn't volunteer much information in the cave pagoda. At Lake Inle he was much more knowledgeable and he was always so kind with the workers in the different workshops. All our guides made this a wonderful experience for us and were very kind with us and our children. We were very impressed by how friendly the people are in Myanmar.     I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time in Myanmar and to thank you for organizing everything so smoothly for us. We were so impressed by the country we are already planning our return! Thank you for your patience with our constantly changing schedule. The guides were on the whole very good and knowledgeable, the flights all left on time and arrived on time (if not early - better than most international flights we have been on!) and everyone was there to meet us as arranged. The mini buses were very spacious and comfortable, with water & welcome cool towels supplied, and the excellent drivers made us feel very safe. Accommodation in Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake was of a good standard and the Hotel 7 Mile was fine for a short overnight stay - I would not recommend it for any longer stay, as it is a way out of town and very basic, with no facilities.Thanks again, we will be recommending you to our numerous friends who are all keen to travel to Burma after hearing our stories and seeing the incredible photos!

    Dear Mr. Hieu Ha,
    Thank you very much for your warm greetings. I must apologise for not giving you some words so late until now.
    It was a paradoxical that I dislocated my left shoulder accidentally inside the flight from Heho Airport to Yangon in the evening of 12 November 2016 (around 1715hrs.), just before took off. The crews of the flight requested me to leave the flight as I was not suitable to fly with them back to Yangon from Heho. On this occasion, I left the flight at once and sought medical service at once. Fortunately, I was admitted to a hospital in Taunggyi township which was for foreigners. Everything backed to normal at about 2015hrs but I needed to stay in Taunggyi Hotel on 12 November 2016 and paid extra for the hotel.
    The airline company was also very helpful and they let me change the flight to 13 November 2016 without any extra charge. I went back to Yangon in the afternoon of 13 December 2016 and your guide, Mr. Lin and the driver pick me up in Yangon Airport. I also changed my flight to Hong Kong on 14 November 2016 insted of 15 November 2016, one day earlier back to Hong Kong.
    Your guides in Yangon, Heho, Kalaw and Inle Lake were very helpful, friendly and responsible. The guide in Kalaw provided assistance for me at once when she learnt that I hurted myself accidentally.
    Please pass my greetings and my heartfelf thankness to you and all your colleagues. 
    Hopefully I can have long holidays next year and I must visit Myanmar again.

    I had an excellent trip to Myanmar. my special thanks and gratitude to Ms. Trang Vu, for organising such a perfect tour in such a short time. 
    Without her help and the support of your company and team, I would never have made it. my thanks to all of you in making the trip a memory of a lifetime. 
    My only two suggestions. the mistake was one my part not to have mentioned. I would have preferred an accommodation in Bagan with better wifi/connectivity. Although the hotel was excellent. not having internet in your room is quite stressful. also I think you should advise people on the weather in the place of travel. 
    I was fortunate enough, but the last day in Baganand the next day was very cloudy. If someone is traveling and spending to a see the sunset there, was not to witness it, what a colossal waste it would be. My Balloon over Bagan trip was cancelled but it could have been much worse if it rained throughout my stay. I think you should take care of this.

    Hello Hue, how are you? Sorry it took me a week to get back to you (since we returned to Israel, that is).
    Our vacation was magnificent! We had a wonderful time. Aside from the fact that Myanmar is beautiful, the guides and drivers were superb, they always were there on time to greet us, and they were informative, pleasant, and sensitive to our needs and desires. Everything worked like a clock! Yet the best part (and please forward this information to your superiors) was your handling of the "operation", from your first response to my initial inquiry, to your "real time" responses during the trip (I think we accumulated altogether about 60-70 emails between us altogether...). You have been responsive, patient, and so very informative without which, I am sure, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy the vacation as much as we have! 
    Going down to the detail level, and please do not take this as criticism but rather as a constructive feedback, please note the following: 
    - Our best guide, by far, was the guide in the trek. His name is Aung Aung Oo (I believe that he does not usually work for your company but he substituted for somebody else). An excellent young man which, if there is any way to convey to him our appreciation, it will be great. 
    - The second hotel in Yangon, East Hotel, like I wrote you already, was the worst!!! Toilets without doors make it very unpleasant. Yet the "compensation" - the last night in the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel was a great choice of yours, and a great way to spend the last night in Yangon. Thank you for that. 
    - I suggest that from now on you inform those who intend to go on a trek in this season to bring good trekking shoes. "good walking shoes" will not be able to handle the unbelievable amount of mud and some water enroute. I understand that in the dry season it is different, but not in or around the rainy season (luckily we had trekking shoes with us so all went well). 
    Once again, Hue, you have been wonderful and we are sincerely grateful Should we plan on another trip to this side of the globe I will certainly get in touch, and I will most certainly continue recommending you to others.

    I have told you that out of precaution I asked Asian Trails to offer the same... they failed to do it!!!I have to praise your leading motivating & controlling your colleagues & the many guides in your local offices along the itinerary (Myanmar, Laos, North & South Vietnam & Cambodia) while keeping an open line for me if I had any problem requiring your attention.Meeting Carmela & me in Hanoi for lunch to give me a mobile phone to use all over Vietnam to assure personal communication was really "out of the line of duty" I know & I have put it forward... that i was a tough client who knew what he wants & made sure I get it & Carmela needed special attention & comfort using her Crutch... although coping with all challenges like the golden Rock & Mt Popa in Myanmar, through the Valley of Jars & Phonsavan to Dien Bien Phu along Routes 13N & 12N (under heavy works) to Sa Pa Bac Ha on the Chinese border.There is no way that in such a long & demanding itinerary ( in the top season of National & new year Holidays) will not be some problems or changes required... I had long wanted to get closer to that area, but after this trip have been satisfied and we can understand a little better your culture and idiosyncrasy, even being so different from ours. The weather was great and your companions, guides and drivers were very professional and friendly. As aspects to improve, I can only mention that the trip is not adapted to 100% of the planned program, for example a visit to a monastery to contemplate the life of the monks and their meals, due to the fact that our arrival to the country first day was a little late and the last day of our departure was very early. I am back home and somehow, I wish I was still in Myanmar, I had the best time there.Unfortunately, the boat ride on Inle Lake was not so good for my head, I got vertigo and felt unstable on my two legs. The people at the Paramount Inle Resort took great care of me, they were so friendly and forthcoming. I wish to say thank you to them as well.
    My guide in Nang Thein May (Joyce) went beyond her duty to help me feel ok after the boat ride back to the main land. She has been a wonderful companion and I felt at home when she was around. Our driver was incredibly attentive and kind, I want to let them know how much I appreciated their company and time spent together traveling slowly in their car.All my guides, from Thinzar Hlaine to Suu and of course all the people at the hotels I stayed, have been truly amazing to me, very friendly and absolutely nice in their unique way of welcoming me. Thank you to all of them.
    I will not forget how good I felt being around them.My last stay was at the Myanmar Life Hotel – organized for me by the insurance company which planned my trip back home after I felt sick. I have left an envelope – in room 114 – which was given to me by the very first guide who picked me up at the airport in Yangon upon my arrival on the 11.03.17. I wrote down all my comments about your company and my trip, I hope you got it. I should have given it to the receptionist but I was to groggy from medication to remember, sorry for that.
    I am aware that you cannot refund the hotel fares and I am absolutely ok with it. I am glad I could go home cause being sick during my stay wasn’t planned. I loved the Hotel Jade Marina in Ngapali, it was my highlight but unfortunately it was not meant to be, I have to go back there one day.     Yes, we had a fantastic trip to Myanmar and overall it was perfect J with the itinerary, the guides, the drivers, the hotels and of course because of the country Myanmar itself and also because of you and your company of courseJ About the guide in Mandalay: I am sure he will improve over the years as he is still very young and there is also a lot of potential.
    All the guides were very friendly and did their best. The guide in Bagan was excellent as well as the lady guide (I i) at Inle Lake. She was absolutly the best of all and impressed us very much.
    Mandalay Hill Hotel: the lobby, restaurant and bar are nice as well as the food was very good but the rooms need a fresh-up. I know that we even had a better room category than standard.
    Amara Ocean Resort: The Resort and the surounding of this hotel, especially the beach is absolutly fantastic, (you should take a beach front bungalow here, what we did). Second row of the bungalows seems to me a bit overpaid, as beach front has much more benefit, the view, own beach chairs in front of bungalow, direct access to beach etc).
    But what Amara really must improve is the quality of the food. They have an extrem wide range of dishes (European, Asian, International) but the style how the dishes were cooked seemed to us rather poor, not really tasty and extremly expenses in comparison to other great hotels we stayed in on our trip. They really should shorten the menue and improve the taste of the dishes a lot to a higher standard.
    If we should come back to Myanmar we definitly would book with you again and will recommand your company at all times.Thank you once again for this unforgettable trip and I remain with best regards from Switzerland

    I wanted to take the time to thank you for helping make our Myanmar/ Laos trip such a success. The trip was wonderful and everything worked out just perfectly. Guides were always punctual and knowledgeable. The best guides hands down were in Mandalay and Inle Lake. They went above and beyond the call of duty and were so friendly and very service oriented. Although all the others were good, with possibly the guide in Yangon who spent some time napping in the car and needed to be reminded about what things were on out itinerary on a regular basis. Nice enough but seemed tired most of the time. As for the trip, the only hotel that didn't live up to its rating was in Mandalay. Hotel is a bit run down and restaurants are weak. Also, we probably would recommend that Vientiane Laos not be a place that would be recommended. It would have been better had we skipped it, and flown from Luang Prabang directly to Pakse. The drive from Luang Prabang to Vientiane was way to long. But we did enjoy the Plain of Jars. The guide in Luang Prabang was good but be needs to be a little more careful in taking foreigners to eat in some very local places that food preparation/sanitary conditions are questionable.     Thank you so much for the wonderful trip you organised!! Everything was on time and our guides (especially Sam in Mandalay) were exceptional. Their knowledge of the local area, the history and culture was amazing! Their friendliness was wonderful and it was lovely hearing about the local life! Our drivers were great. The food in the hotels of course varied from place to place!! But was overall good. In regard to the hotels – of course they were all of different standards! The eco lodge in Inle was beautiful and in a great position. All except our hotel in Mruak U were very clean. The bathroom was terrible. Very dirty walls and a blocked drain, so water went everywhere! I shall be contacting them to make them aware of the problem. The staff everywhere were wonderful. I loved the way the guides would take us to the markets and the workshops but there was no pressure to buy anything. And of course they came up with ways to occasionally make the itinerary work better! We were very glad that were able to take the car back to Sittwe from Yangon rather than the extra long boat trip leaving so early in the morning! And it was lovely to see the changing countryside.
    All in all a wonderful time and I don’t think there is anything I would change.
    So once again a very big thank you and hope we can come again to visit wonderful Asia

    Many thanks for organising our Myanmar holiday. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We thought that the itinerary was well planned, balanced and flexible with all arrangements going smoothly and to schedule and that the trip was very good value with a minimum of fuss. We will certainly recommend your company to any friends planning to visit Myanmar. Here is some feedback, none of which should be taken as criticism and most of which is minor comment. We think that it would be advisable to indicate to potential customers that there are some aspects to travelling in Myanmar that would make it difficult for people with a disability (eg steep stairways, need to get in and out of boats, need to be bare-foot, broken footpaths and general lack of disability access). It would also be useful to warn customers that the trip to Golden Rock is strenuous and to take little luggage due to the crowded truck ride and need to be carried up the mountain on a palanquin. We were impressed by the friendliness, kindness and openess of people everywhere and we never felt in danger even at night. However, we did sometimes feel uncomfortable intruding into religious institutions when monks and other people were at prayer and were sometimes unsure of the correct behavior. There was often a lack of toilet facilities It was extremely difficult to obtain postage stamps and to post mail. It was difficult to change money outside the major cities. It would have been preferable if the hotels had checked which of our party were smokers when allocating rooms with balconies. We liked all our guides and drivers who were all friendly, caring and helpful. However, we thought it would have been useful to have been given their correct names beforehand. We enjoyed the welcoming banquet and cultural performance. Our most interesting meal was when our guide in Mandalay took us to a local restaurant. We often had boring meals in the hotels and would have liked more local advice on other possible interesting restaurants eg in the suburbs of Yangon. We thought that it was good that we had a few days longer than most tours, particularly in Bagan where we enjoyed both the sunset boat cruise and horse ride. However, we felt that we still did not have enough time in Yangon to explore the many interesting sights. Clearly Myanmar is on the edge of major development which will gradually see improvements to infrastructure and the banking system which will solve many of the issues I have mentioned. Once again, many thanks for organising our trip!Cheers
